Članek obravnava »vsakdanje« medosebne spore, ki so izbruhnili v nasilje, protokolirane v zapisnikih trškega sveta Lenart v Slovenskih goricah v obdobju 1640–1740, pri čemer se osredotoča na vlogo žensk v sovražnostih v manjšem urbanem naselju. Njihova analiza se je izkazala kot ključna ne le za preučevanje »ženskih« sovražnosti, temveč tudi za ustrezno razumevanje takratnih družbenih odnosov in spolnih vlog. Vloga žensk v sporih in njihovem reševanju je bila sicer praviloma drugačna od moške; v ohranjenih virih je neredko v ozadju, toda zato še zdaleč ni zanemarljiva – članek med drugim izpodbija predstavo o (upo)rabi nasilja kot izključno moški domeni.
