About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Kronika is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to the study of both local and general Slovenian history, as well as the broader Central European historical context. The journal covers the fields of history, archaeology, and art history and is published by the Association of Historical Societies of Slovenia.
Through a carefully curated selection of articles, Kronika aims to promote historical research and make it accessible to a wider readership beyond academic circles. The journal is published three times a year, with the final issue of each year devoted to a specific thematic focus.
Kronika welcomes contributions from both established scholars and early-career researchers. The journal accepts original research articles, review articles, and professional contributions. Submissions employing innovative methodologies or addressing underexplored areas of (local) history are especially encouraged.
Articles may be submitted in Slovenian or English. Each contribution is accompanied by an extended summary in English (or Slovenian, if the original manuscript is in a foreign language), and an abstract in both Slovenian and English.
Kronika operates under a diamond open access model: all content is freely available online immediately upon publication, with no article processing charges for authors and no subscription fees for readers.
